Poulton Town Centre

Poulton Town Centre

Poulton-le-Fylde is an old market town, with a market square in the heart of the town centre with main streets leading off. This video clip of Poulton town centre is taken from the steps of St Chad’s Church Yard, looking over the pedestrianised market square.

As it has done many times over the years, Poulton town centre has recently undergone a recent period of change, with the redevelopment of the indoor Teanlowe Centre.

First, the former indoor Market Hall was changed into the current Home Bargains store, then Booths carried out a redevelopment of the Teanlowe itself.

Weekly Market in Poulton Town Centre

October 2011 saw the return of the weekly market to Poulton Market Square.

Poulton weekly market

Held in the pedestrianised market square area, it is the first time for a number of years that the town has held a regular weekly general market.

Come to Poulton-le-Fylde each Monday for a selection of goods including clothes, gifts, homewares, confectionary, food and snacks.

Held each week on Monday, come rain or shine, it’s quickly become a focal point for the town, transforming a once quiet day into a hive of activity, throughout the pedestrianised town centre which was originally built as, you guessed it, a market square!

Car Parking

There’s plenty of free car parking on the central Teanlowe Centre car park which has been improved along with the redevelopment of the Teanlowe Centre.

Local Shops in the Community

Unusual in today’s society are the small runs of local shops which you’ll find in the local communities all over the Fylde Coast, and Poulton is certainly no exception.

It’s so handy to be able to buy the necessities of life close to where you live without having to make a car journey, and keeps the local neighbourhood alive and vibrant.

If you are visiting the area or coming on holiday you’d better make sure you leave room in the boot for the treasures and keepsakes which you buy while you are here – it’s a good thing that you don’t pay excess baggage on UK trips to Poulton-le-Fylde!
